BuildShip x Webflow Hackathon Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. BINDING AGREEMENT

By entering the BuildShip x Webflow Hackathon (the “Contest”), you agree to these Official Rules (“Rules”). Please read these Rules prior to entry to ensure you understand and agree. Submission of an entry constitutes agreement to these Rules.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to enter the Contest, you must be:

  • Above the age of majority in your jurisdiction at the time of entry.

  • Not a resident of countries currently under U.S. export sanctions

  • Not an employee or immediate family member of BuildShip or its affiliates.

3. CONTEST PERIOD

  • Starts: November 21st, 2024, at 12:00:00 AM PST

  • Ends: February 15th, 2025, at 11:59:59 PM PST

4. HOW TO ENTER

  1. Visit the contest website at buildship.com/hack-with-webflow during the Contest Period.

  2. Create a BuildShip account and develop your solution using BuildShip and Webflow.

  3. Submit your entry through the official form on the contest site.

Entry Limit: One entry per person or team.

Submission Requirements:

  • All assets used in the project must be created during the hackathon by participants without copyright issues.

  • Each team can consist of a maximum of 3 members.

  • Each member can only participate in one team at any given time.

  • The project must utilize both BuildShip and Webflow platforms.

  • Include a demo video with your submission for bonus points; you can use Loom or any screen-sharing app.

Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

5. JUDGING CRITERIA

Entries will be evaluated by a diverse panel of judges based on the following criteria:

  1. Impact: Potential for positive change and useful application.

  2. Technical Implementation: Effectiveness of using Webflow and BuildShip platform features.

  3. Creativity and Innovation: Originality and unique approach to problem-solving.

  4. Functionality Without Glitches and Errors: Smooth operation without bugs or errors.

Each entry will be rated on a scale from 0 to 10 for each criterion, contributing to its total score.

6. PRIZES

  • First Place: $2,000 cash

  • Second Place: $1,000 cash

  • Third Place: $500 cash

Winners will be announced on January 9, 2025. Cash prizes will be distributed via Contra platform. For swag distribution, winners will be contacted to collect their shipping addresses.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Participants retain ownership of their submissions but grant BuildShip a non-exclusive license to showcase entries for promotional purposes.

  • Submissions must be licensed under the MIT license.

  • Projects will be listed on the marketplace as shareable remix templates under the MIT license.

  • All submissions must be original work.

8. ADDITIONAL TERMS

  • Participants agree to these official rules.

  • BuildShip reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not comply with these rules or that undermine the integrity of the Contest.

  • No Employment Commitment: Participation does not imply future employment opportunities with BuildShip.

  • Limited Liability: BuildShip is not responsible for any damages or losses related to participation in this hackathon.

Important Note: By entering, participants acknowledge that BuildShip's liability is strictly limited to the prize amounts and does not extend to any consequential damages or claims.
